Lors de chaque édition (en mai), le "Classic Malts Scottish Reliability Trial", regroupe de superbes voitures anciennes. Ce sympathique rallye est toujours un semaine d'expériences inoubliables pour les pilotes: plus de 1300 miles (2000 km) depuis les Basses Terres jusqu'à l'extrême nord de l'Ecosse et l'île de Skye pour revenir à Edimbourg, en mêlant de façon harmonieuse compétition et tourisme.

Du 22 et 23 juin 2002, pour la cinquième fois en 68 ans, Montreux a accueilli cette fête exceptionnelle à la gloire de l'automobile, dont l'historie est riche en événements.
Le 3 juin 1934, lors du 1er Grand Prix Automobile de Montreux, le circuit, long de 3320 m, devait être parcouru 90 fois, soit un total de 298,8 km.

The fortieth running of the famous 24 Hour Race attracted a healthy entry in all categories, including a Ferrari 333 SP in the LMP category and a pair of 360 N-GTs and a Ferrari F355 in the GT group. The race was won by the Dallara-Judd LMP of Doran Racing driven by Theys / Lienhard / Papis / Baldi, having also set the fastest qualifying lap top take pole position.

The third running of this fledgling event took place in and around Modena in mid-April, and seems to grow in stature each year. It is organised by Modenatur, who bring together a combination of ancient and modern, speed and elegance, culture and art, to provide a broad ranging event to celebrate the town's longstanding links with the automobile.

The 2002 Tour Auto proved to be another first rate retrospective rally bringing together a fabulous collection of cars, many famous and well-known drivers along with their co-pilots. From its traditional start at the Trocadero underneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the competitors were bound for the period gem that is the southwestern resort of Biarritz.

The third edition of the Modena Cento Ore Classic, starting and finishing at Modena and taking in the Fiorano and Imola racetracks, concluded with the victory of the English Chiles-Mountford team in a 1965 Ford GT40 after four days of competition on the circuits and on the Apennine roads covering a total distance of more than 1000 kilometers.

The star Ferrari entry was the Prodrive 550 Maranello, which had undergone rigorous endurance tests prior to the team's assault on Le Mans. It showed its potential in the GTS category during the Thursday and Friday practice sessions, when Tomas Enge planted it firmly at the head of its class with a lap time 0.88 secs quicker than the fastest Chevrolet Corvette driven by Oliver Gavin.

The on track action was mainly Ferrari and Maserati orientated, although there were races for Historic Formula Fords, Formula 5000 and FIA Thoroughbred Grand Prix Cars, all of which featured full grids and provided some close exciting racing.

The fortieth anniversary of the legendary Ferrari 250 GTO was celebrated by a number of owners at a private gathering in the Bourgogne region of France, between 9-13 September. A total of twenty three examples took part, almost two thirds of the total production, coming from as dar away as the USA and Japan. Of all the 250 GTO anniversary meetings held over the years, this must have been the most comprehensive gathering to date.

The Le Mans Classic was held for the first time over the weekend of 21-22 September, using the full road circuit and featuring both day and night races for classic cars divided into five age related groups. The event was the initiative of Peter Auto in Paris together with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, and took a great deal of persistence and negotiation with the local authorities and businesses to become a reality.

With a third consecutive Drivers' World Championship and a fourth consecutive Manufacturers title, the annual end of season Ferrari gathering was held in high spirits at the Santa MOnica Circuit at Misano Adriatico. With eleven races plus thirteen practice and qualifying sessions there was plenty of time for the 360 Challenge competitors to become intimate on the track and trade paint samples in this "multi-coloured swap shop!"
